Marine Engineering

The comprehensive range of sensors and systems manufactured by Valcom offers high quality products utilising the latest digital technologies and are suitable for installation in all kinds of vessels including tankers, bulkarians, military, floating docks and off-shore applications.
Level & ullage measurement is offered by the TS02 Tank-Sonar^® wave transmitter using a sophisticated and extremely accurate ‘third millennium’ technique. For ballast and service tanks, a wide selection of sensors are available including submersible sensors as well as a ‘bubbling’ system. This is composed by a row of sensors mounted on a DIN rail complete with pressure regulators for constant bubbling flow (PR3).
Level sensors as in the Water Ingress Alarm System (WISE) and in the high and overfill alarm systems (STHOP) use ultrasonic sound waves distributed through a metal rod. This provides a purely static sensor, with no vibrating parts and no optical components. This enables them to withstand temperature ranges from -200°C up to +300°C and pressures from -1 bar up to 400 bar. These ruggedized sensors are extremely robust and give compliance with all IACS, IMO and SOLAS regulations for installation on bulkarians. The unique construction of the sensors also allows for ease of installation and self-cleaning.
A wide range of pressure sensors is also available for cargo-tanks inert-gas pressure, vapor line pressure, cargo line manifold pressure, ballast pump, line pressure and draft measurement.

Oil and Gas Production & Process

Valcom manufactures a complete range of Oil & Gas industry solutions including electronic transmitters for measuring pressure, vacuum and level. The device controllers can have integrated displays or be remotely administered using the HART® communication protocol. The use of AISI 316 stainless steel makes these ruggedised instruments particularly suitable for applications in corrosive and aggressive atmospheres and all Oil & Gas industry sensors are certified ATEX directives compliant.
The industry’s specialised applications are specifically catered for; such as pressure transmitters up to 15000 psi, non-standard specific gravity transmitters, sonar level transmitters for very high precision applications (e.g. LPG vessels) and multipoint temperature transmitters combined with multi-interface level transmitters. 
All instruments can have screwed or flanged connections and come complete with separator & capillaries manufactured, assembled and tested in production.

Pulp and Paper

Valcom  offers  a  dedicated  line  of  products to measure and control Pulp & Paper production. Their welding ring connection offering a flush diaphragm size has become a standard for pneumatic and electronic devices mounted on cleaners, refiners, pumps, deflakers, etc.  The product range includes instruments with welding ring, screwed, flanged and special connections, integral or remote versions. Transmitters with capillaries and seals for level, pressure, differential pressure and vacuum measuring, together with consistency and on-line gloss meters, are produced, assembled and tested entirely in-house.
